Prospective residents recently joined Cedarfield Marketing for a Wacky Light tour of Richmond's west end. Guests enjoyed holiday cookies and lights in their festive attire!

Country Hoedown!

Cedarfield celebrated the start of fall with a Country Hoedown! Residents dressed up in their best country attire, munched on classic southern cuisine and line danced the night away!

Are you ready for some football?

Team jerseys emerge from their summer hiding, the weather begins to change, and Sunday afternoons become a little bit more exciting! It must be that time of year again – the start of football season!

Residents had the chance to gear up for the upcoming season by visiting Richmond’s new Redskins Training Camp. Seated just on the sidelines, they saw players up close and personal as they practiced and scrimmaged. What an extraordinary opportunity to have an NFL training camp just down the road from Cedarfield!

Small Steps to End Alzheimer's

To launch Cedarfield’s annual fundraising campaign for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, residents and staff participated in a campus wide event, Small Steps to End Alzheimer’s. On Thursday, August 16^th, the day began with a short walk through the community and ended with games, prizes, a silent auction, lunch and bake sale. Thanks to the wonderful weather, the fantastic planning committee and excited participants, the day’s activities raised over $2,000.

All proceeds go to the Cedarfield Team campaign for the Greater Richmond Chapter Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

New Kent Vineyard

On Thursday June 20^th, Cedarfield Marketing celebrated summer with a visit to New Kent Vineyard with a group of prospective residents. Guests were able to taste a sample of three red wines, three white wines and one dessert wine. They also toured the winery, learning the history of the reclaimed materials used to build the facility, as well as the wine making process. Thanks to the fabulous weather, guests were able to enjoy their box lunches (provided by the Dining Room at Cedarfield) on the winery’s porch, overlooking the Chardonnay grapes.

Seafood Spectacular

The Dining Room at Cedarfield hosted the annual Seafood Spectacular on April 25, 2013 – 

an evening the residents look forward to throughout the year. 

All chefs, cooks and servers were on deck, creating mouthwatering delicacies ranging from stuffed clams to lobster tails, scallops, crab legs and more. 

Residents concluded the night with a delectable Grand Dessert Buffet – all set beneath the watch of a lighthouse cake, completed with an operational light.

The sand the light house is sitting on is actually brown sugar! Sweet!

The dessert sushi pictured is made with Fruit Roll-ups and Rice Krispy Treats! Yum!

Brunch with the Best

Cedarfield recently hosted a successful "Brunch with the Best." Guests were able to listen and meet with experts who make the journey to Cedarfield more direct, smooth and smart.

Door to Door Solutions, Caring Transitions, Elderlife Financial Services, Exit First Realty, More than Moving and Transitions ETC all shared what their business can do to help avoid the twists and turns to a wonderful retirement.

Atrium Cafe Now Open!

Cedarfield began 2013 with the opening of the newly renovated Atrium Café. Residents were invited to meet the café staff and sample various items from the menu. From all day breakfast to sandwiches, soups, pastries, and even milkshakes, the menu seems to have something for everyone. Beautiful pendant lights and colorful tabletops complete the Atrium Café experience.
